Creed Thoughts!
Hey-o, everyone out there in SyberWorld. It,s old Creed Bratton coming at your again, here from my perch as Quality Assurance Manager at Dunder Mifflin paper. Just a few observations on the world around me.
What do you guys think is the best kind of car? To me, you can,t beat motorcycles. They,re small and dangerous.
I got into a car - This is the second episode to feature a flashback to the conclusion to the cliffhanger, Jim/Pam ending of a previous episode. Episode 3.1., "Gay Witch Hunt," included a flashback to the events of 2.22, "Casino Night," showing us what happened moments after that episode ended. This episode flashes back to the Jim/Pam beach scene that followed her fireside speech.
The flashbacks are similar as they both deal with the aftermath of one of the characters confessing something personal to the other.
- We learn Meredith drives a Ford Aerostar with the license plate number CHT8635.
- Angela claims that due to her petite stature, she's "forced to go to the American Girl store. And order clothes for large colonial dolls." The American Girl colonial dolls are only 18 inches tall, so it is unlikely that Angela would fit into the doll clothing. There are, however, matching outfits available.
- When Creed tells Dwight that the floor manager at the paper mill had an "emergency dentist appointment," Dwight looks at the camera and smiles. This is referring to the season 3 episode "The Coup" when Dwight told Michael he had an emergency dentist appointment when he met with Jan.

- The exterior of David Wallace's house looks nothing like it did back in "Branch Closing".
- Dwight sits in the front with Michael on the way to the party despite declaring in "Traveling Salesman" that he only sits in the back to avoid injury in an accident.
- Karen mentions that one of her fellow co-workers was in anger management. This refers to Andy, who was sent to anger management after punching a hole in the office wall in the episode "The Return". His disappearance is not explained in "The Return", but it is explained in the deleted scenes of that episode.
- The drinking game that is played at the bar is called Up Jenkins!.
- One of the students asks Michael about how Dunder Mifflin's Herfindahl Index has decreased since the merger. The Herfindahl-Hirschman Index is an actual economic measure of company size and competition within an industry. In the US, the Department of Justice will use this statistic as part of the decision to allow or deny a merger of companies.
- Pam and Roy's song is Jewel's "You Were Meant For Me," which Roy requests at the wedding.
- Stanley had brought a toaster for Phyllis and Bob. He also was going to give a toaster to Pam and Roy for their wedding but it was called off.
- Michael's cell phone ringtone is still "My Humps" by The Black Eyed Peas. The closed caption mistakenly identifies Michael's cell phone ring as "Ridin'" by Chamillionaire.
- When Michael is about to leave to go bring Dwight back to the office, Andy invites Michael to watch a Cornell-Hofstra football game with him that weekend, even though college football ends its regular season before New Year's.
- NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly had a brief cameo appearance. He played Dwight's first interviewer. Reilly was a strong supporter of The Office during its first season despite low ratings.
- There is an extra line Michael typed on the computer when using the text to speech. It seems as though this line was cut from the final edit. It says "Pam is the receptionist."
- Angela's middle name can be inferred to be Noelle, since in her story to Pam she refers to herself as Noelle and Dwight as Kurt, which is his middle name as we learned in "The Injury".
- The karaoke song Angela sings, "Little Drummer Boy" is the same song Dwight hums in the very first episode while he is prepping his desk.
- When Michael first enters the office, asking Pam where the gifts go, Pam's screen changes twice during the dialogue.
- Though the characters act like it's right in town, the nearest Benihana to Scranton, PA is 48.9 miles away in Pennsauken, NJ.
- A Staples paper shredder was being used by the character Kevin even though Staples is Dunder Mifflin's biggest competition. The Staples logo is made brighter using the color red for the logo. Immediately following the scene was a commercial for the same shredder.
- On their way to New York to see the CFO you can see on the dashboard of the car they are headed south and it is currently 87°. This being late fall in the Northeast and them heading north to NY, you can tell that they are actually filming in Los Angeles heading south.
- What Kelly's sister said ("Kelly Zach Braff ko pasand karti hai!") translates to "Kelly likes Zach Braff!".
- The Diwali Song
It's time to celebrate Diwali
Everybody looks so jolly
But it's not Christmas, it's Diwali
The goddess of destruction, Kali
Stopped by to celebrate Diwali
Don't invite any zombies
To our celebration of Diwali
Along came Polly
To have some fun on Diwali
If you're Indian and you love to party
Have a happy happy happy happy Diwali
Happy Diwali!

- This is the first episode that documents the branch on a Monday.
- In the scene where Jim accidently kills Andy in Call of Duty, Andy's player name is "HereComesTreble."
- We see that Michael and Dwight take the train to Philadelphia. Although Philadelphia is readily accessible by rail, Scranton is not. They could have driven to New York City or New Jersey to get to the nearest AmTrak station, but it would be much easier, faster, and less expensive to have driven directly from Scranton to Philadelphia via I-476, the Pennsylvania Turnpike NorthEast Extension.
- Michael's new ringtone is "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas.
